Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans

This 2016 Rebecca Caudill nominee is definitely in my top three reads from the list this year! This is a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat novel about a boy who has lived with a secret electrifying superpower his whole life. He accidentally discovers that another student in his school has a similar power, and their research into their past leads them right into the hands of an evil man set out to use and abuse their powers to achieve maximum wealth and power. When Michael and his friend Taylor resist, the battle of a lifetime ensues!
